The red mangrove is an evergreen tree/shrub from tropical countries. It is adaptable to salinity, water temperature, as well as light and nutrients. Under good conditions, the plant grows into a small tree; under less favorable conditions, it becomes more bush-like.

Rhizophora mangle is suitable for saltwater, brackish water, and freshwater aquariums. If you want to keep the mangrove in freshwater, you must gradually acclimate it, as it comes from saltwater here.
