I have been working for Meerwasser Center Menzel with great pleasure for over 15 years. I have already met many of you personally, whether during a visit to us, at trade fairs or on the phone.

As of May 1, 2024, I, Daniela Kresse née Menzel, have taken over the management of the company together with my husband Uwe. We are very much looking forward to our new future, to our new challenge and hope that we can continue to count on your trust and loyalty!

I would like to thank my parents, the Menzel family, for the pleasant, valuable cooperation and the great trust they have placed in us by handing over the company.

Our experienced team continues to work in a customer-oriented manner, always keeping the needs of the animals in mind. Optimal organization and regular further training ensure a high standard of quality and fast order processing. We support our customers in all areas of marine aquaristics.

We will be happy to provide you with advice and support - even when planning new systems or expanding existing ones.

Since the founding of Meerwasser Center Menzel in 1988, we have grown continuously. From the initial sales facilities with a capacity of approx. 12,000 liters, we now have tanks with a total capacity of 75,000 liters.

Ecology

Ecologically responsible and sustainable action is not just limited to catching and breeding fish. We also take responsibility for people, animals and the environment in our day-to-day work. We use modern technologies for marine aquariums and test them for our partners in the pet trade. Thanks to state-of-the-art water treatment technology, we do not use any medication - hormones and antibiotics are taboo for us. With our own photovoltaic system, we relieve the strain on the electricity grid and can significantly reduce energy consumption for heating, ventilation and lighting. We also regularly review and adapt our logistics processes.

Our suppliers provide a large part of the added value - we therefore place the same high demands on them as we do on ourselves. We can build on the excellent cooperation with exporters worldwide who are responsible for our imported fish and molluscs. After import, all animals are placed in our quarantine station to rule out diseases. At the same time, the animals are accustomed to replacement food. We only release the animals for sale once they are sufficiently acclimatized.

ZZF - German Pet Trade and Industry Association

The Zentralverband Zoologischer Fachbetriebe e.V. represents a solidarity community of around 670 member companies from the pet retail, wholesale and industry sectors. In the ZZF's basic principles, the responsibility of humans for living animals and the well-being of pets are paramount. The promotion of animal welfare in the pet trade, education about species-appropriate pet keeping and commitment to nature and species conservation are among the association's most important tasks.
