A nice animal for well-run pools because you are always on the lookout for food.
These lyre fish are very nice to look at as a pair, but please do not put 2 males together, as they fight bitterly until only 1 animal is left. Males can be recognized by their elongated dorsal fin. Synchiropus splendidus and Synchiropus picturatus should not live together in one basin, so please use only one of these two species.
