With good care and sufficient feed, the dwarf emperor rarely pulls on corals. In the sea, this species swims together in groups. In the aquarium you can keep a nice couple together if they have enough space. The aquarium should be well retracted and have enough hiding places.
Males can often be recognized by the pointed dorsal fin, in females it is rather round.
